They want to replicate the feeling they had (when they saw the original trilogy) in the new films, and are completely adverse to any evolution of the Star Wars universe. To the point of wanting the original ageing cast jumping around and being the focal of the latest films!
Everything has evolved apart from the mindset of these type of 'fans.
Read the low reviews about Rise of Skywalker and they all mirror and spout the same negativity over and over.
1. It's not Lucas' vision of star wars - And what's the issue with this? Don't forget Lucas' vision gave us the phantom menace, attack of the clones and revenge of the sith. Which were poorly directed, ridiculous slap stick humour, awful CGI, a ridiculous complicated trade federation story line, and zero chemistry between the main characters. Watch any of these films back without cringing, I challenge you. Also let's be honest, whilst Empire and New hope were master classes, Return of the Jedi was not.
2. Disney are just trying to make money - SHOCK HORROR. A company trying to make money. I hate to break the news here but that's what companies do, make money. Let's not kid ourselves the original franchise went to town on merchandise and Lucas made a pound or two from it. Lets get over the Disney bashing for the sake of it, its getting so cliche it's boring.
3. The characters were chosen just to be multicultural -
Erm. Princess Leia? Lando? Attacking the franchise for choosing 2 x fantastic British actors in Daisy Ridley and John Boyega is extremely disappointing. Rey is a proper modern day hero and rightly so. Shame on you British public! I for one am proud of what a fantastic job they did and the chemistry they clearly have on and off stage. Adam driver was also superb at the part of kylo.
4. Too many Disney new cute characters
Watch Return of the Jedi and look out for a tribe of fluffy bears who attack and defeat the empire with stones.
5. The old characters weren't the focus of the new films
Yes, the story, characters and universe have evolved, please move on.
6. Plot had too many unanswered loopholes
No it hasn't, all the answers are there and form part of the extended universe. Get sone knowledge of the universe, then comment.
7. Bringing back palatine was just a desperate act
No it wasn't, please gain some knowledge of the extended universe. Palpatine was brought back to life after ROTJ. It is well known and was not a last minute idea.
8. The Rise of Skywalker basically made the first 6 films redundant -
Didn't the death star get destroyed, rebuilt, then destroyed again in the original trilogy? Does this make A New Hope a redundant film?
So the actual film. br> Masterclass, 100 mph, brilliant acting, chemistry between the characters, hugely emotional, unbelievable cinematography, dark and atmospheric, immense sound by the genius John Williams band, briiliant and simple story line, brilliant brilliant brilliant on so many levels. I was in tears through out and came out feeling like I did when I saw the originals years ago. Smiling and crying at the same time.
Don't listen to this review or any others, go see the film through the eyes of a child and no prejudgement from the horrendous toxicity of the star wars fan base and make your own mind up.

Is it good? Worth watching. I don't get why people are already hating this movie. It's not the best one ever made, but I enjoyed the characters (who were likeable) I liked the direction, the acting (aside from a few enunciation issues early in the film. The scares were well done and a few of them really worked. The plot, unlike the 2004 version, was cohesive and made sense as to its progression. I say it's worth a watch and it's a good way to start 2020 for horror. That said, it's not going to be for everyone and please take the rating to heart.

Okay, I've seen the reviews on here saying it's terrible, had no plot, terrible script, blah blah blah, but I haven't seen anyone talk about the main issue I've got with this film. And the reviews saying it didn't have a plot are incorrect, to a degree. There was a plot, a paper thin BS plot, but it was plot nonetheless. I understand this is meant to be a female empowerment movie, and that's great. I love strong female characters. One of my favorite movies is the Descent. However, the antagonists in this movie are a fraternity of men who feel that women are gaining too much ground, fighting for their rights and messages to such an extent, and need to be taken down a peg. They feel women's rightful place is at men's beck and call. That, to me, is the biggest piece of crap I have ever seen in cinema in the last ten years, at least. I can't believe that this even got greenlit. I see on social media about women's strength, their quest for equality, and I think how far we have come from the archaic thoughts of long ago. Then, I go see Black Christmas, and I leave the movie ashamed I spent money on it. To put this into perspective, I'm a Regal theater goer on the unlimited movie plan, so I spent a whopping 50 cents to see it and I almost asked for my money back. The only reason I didn't ask for a refund was the performances were ok. The acting is not going to win awards but the cast worked alright with the POS they were given. Oh and not only was women's equality peed on, but there was a subplot about the lead character getting raped by one of the frat guys, cuz why not? I guess they figured they were already getting their licks in, so why not go for broke. I hope that guys will walk out of there as insulted and disappointed as I did, realizing that this picture and it's ideas belong in the 1950s or something. But I know there are still small-minded individuals who will watch this and think it's the right idea. Now maybe the intent to show the women rising up at the end to fight back their oppressors was supposed to be poignant and uplifting, but the delivery was not good enough for this to be represented. What it showed at the end was nothing more than payback or vengeance. There was no empowerment or positive message here. It was girls getting killed that turned into girls doing the killing because it's a movie. Black Christmas is a black mark of a picture that shouldn't have been made, at least not how it did, and needs to be forgotten.
